Busy weekend!!!

And it started with leaving my house at 7.15am Saturday morning in order to get to the Liverpool social in the evening! After visiting a foreign country, lots of rain, traffic congestion and noshing some fab chips, we got to t'sosh. I've never drunk 'flat' lager before but after 5 pints it didn't seem too bad :P And what fun it was to see the Liverpool crew....

So to Blackburn on Sunday morning for a 10k. Very funny. Don't ever let anyone persuade you to do this unless you've the legs of a mountain goat and the lungs of Lance Armstrong. This is a PW course. I walked through the 3km marker wondering where the rope was to hang on to. On the other hand, it has the most fantastic scenery and so wins hands down on that front over any other 10k I've ever done. And for a moderately-sized field (198 finishers) there was a really rather excellent goody bag - chewy sport bar thing, gel, mug and a sports water bottle! And a children's FLAT fun-run of 2 miles. Of course, if there's someone you really don't like, you could recommend this to them :D

Then eventually back to London and the arrival of the Wombling travellers. And the meeting with BF......... "Aren't they huge!" he says :D

Nearly not my BF after that bliddy 10k but he has redeeming features!

And well done, St Paula!!!! We knew you could do it. Shame we had to listen to the last bit on the radio, but hey ho, was fantastic all the same.

So now the house which usually contains myself and the mad cat is full of people. It's not been like this since the Australians invaded! And my brother and his girlfriend are coming round for tea tomorrow evening. I hope the weather's ok so we can eat in the garden.....
