Some of you may remember that I started this blog with mention of my Australian friend who came to stay for 6 months in August last year. Well, her latest adventure is her involvement in a record attempt by Tristan, the boyfriend of her third daughter Kelly (she started reproductive activity rather earlier than I did), to break the world record for cycling from Sydney to Perth!!!! Currently, the record stands at 9 days 23 hours and 25 minutes. That's to cover about 4000km. My mate Paul has even done a massage course to tend to Tristan's weary limbs along the way. [Hmmm would you want your mother-out-law doing that?]
There is a charity involved but if you want to donate the online donation thingy seems to be not working at the moment. Follow the links if you want to give something anyway, they give bank account details for transfer of dosh.
The challenge starts next Tuesday, 27 September 2005. They have a blog where you can find out more and follow progress. Please lend them your support and chuck in the occasional comment.
And, Tristan is English!!!!! He just happens to be downunder for the time being.
