Aha, just remembered something. I went to Specsavers yesterday as I had been becoming concerned that my reading glasses (the ones I wear over my contact lenses) weren't quite doing the job properly. It turns out that I am becoming less short-sighted and when I'm about 120 I won't need contacts at all.
Anyway, this means I am officially old. Finally. Because when I was about seven and the optician was breaking the news that I had to wear glasses, he tried to cheer me up by saying that when I got 'older' my eyesight would improve again. I mentioned this to Mr Specsavers and he said "You're not old, you're ten years younger than me." Hmmm, not sure that being ten years younger than a 62yo is how I like to think of myself!
